The LAWC is committed to the prevention and prosecution of animal cruelty cases. LAWC supports animal control agencies and law enforcement agencies in enforcing cruelty statues. The LAWC cruelty reporting program serves an ancillary tool for the public to report cruelty. LAWC works with local agencies to ensure cruelty complaints are addressed properly through local channels.
Reporting animal cruelty is very important. If you know or suspect of an animal cruelty situation, please speak up! Agencies rely on the public for help.
You may also file a complaint through the LAWC cruelty report system. We will review the complaint and follow up with the appropriate local authorities.

LAWC’s partner Coalition of Louisiana Animal Advocates has complied a printable handbook version of the LA animal cruelty laws for the public.
SEE SOMETHING.. SEND SOMETHING
One additional way to report animal cruelty or abuse is to use an app referred to as My Mobile Witness. This is part of Homeland Security’s See Something Send Something program that allows witnesses to send photos or videos of criminal activity instantly to law enforcement agencies within the state. Download the app at: http://www.mymobilewitness.com/consumer-services.php.
